On January 21, Yeonggwang County in South Jeolla Province announced that it will implement a support program in which the county office directly prepares the "demolition plan" required for building demolition notifications, as part of its vacant house demolition project. This initiative aims to reduce the administrative and economic burden on residents when demolishing buildings.

When demolishing a building, a demolition plan must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Building Management Act. However, ordinary residents have faced difficulties due to the costs of hiring professional services and the complexity of administrative procedures.

To address this, the county will provide one-stop support, from preparing the demolition plan to guiding residents through related administrative procedures. This will substantially reduce the burden on residents, encourage the participation of vacant house owners who have postponed demolition due to the cost of preparing the demolition plan, and proactively prevent safety accidents caused by neglected, aging buildings.

The Yeonggwang County Building Permit Division stated, "The cost and procedures for preparing demolition plans have long been a significant burden for residents." According to a survey on cost savings following the implementation of this program, it is estimated that each resident will save approximately 2 million won.

Meanwhile, the vacant house demolition project provides financial support for demolition costs to owners who demolish houses that have not been occupied or used for over a year. Applications, along with the required documents, must be submitted to the township office or the Housing Team of the County Building Permit Division by January 31.
