Fasoo Builds AI Services for KIST

Expanding AI Initiatives for Public and Research Institutions
by Combining Advanced AI Technologies and Security Capabilities

Fasoo announced on January 21 that it has built AI services for the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) based on its on-premises artificial intelligence (AI) platform, Ellm.

By launching KIST’s AI services, which integrate the latest AI technologies and data management/protection capabilities, Fasoo is expanding its presence as a secure and practical AI specialist company.

KIST, a leading national research institute that is evolving into a world-class center of innovation, is at the forefront of AX (AI Transformation), revolutionizing research and daily life through AI. As part of this initiative, KIST partnered with Fasoo to implement AI services aimed at streamlining internal administrative work and accelerating research speed. The services include smart document search and automated drafting of research and development plans.

These services are designed to minimize unnecessary effort and time spent by researchers on administrative tasks, thereby enabling them to focus more on their core research activities and enhancing both administrative efficiency and research speed through AI.

Ellm, Fasoo’s enterprise AI platform, is built on a lightweight large language model (sLLM) that has been certified for stability and reliability with GS certification. It can be customized for various industries and use cases, such as report writing, internal data analysis, and customer service. The platform can be integrated with Fasoo’s data protection and management solutions, allowing for consistent security policies from training data to output and ensuring the safe protection of personal information. It excels in both security and practicality.

In the KIST project, Fasoo placed a strong emphasis on security, leveraging its own security expertise and the latest Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technologies.

Specifically, Fasoo implemented: ▲ a RAG pipeline for secure use of internal data; ▲ integration of security access rights by data type; ▲ detection and de-identification of personal information using the AI-based privacy solution ‘AI-R Privacy’; and ▲ a source verification feature to minimize hallucinations.

Yoon Kyungkoo, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Fasoo, stated, “The KIST AI service, which innovates work productivity and efficiency while maintaining security, will continue to expand the application of agentic AI to support AI transformation across a wider range of work processes.”
