Mayor Cho Hyunil Addresses Local Issues Directly, Including Daeim District and Government Office Remodeling
An Open Forum for Communication: Moving Beyond Reports, Welcoming a Surge of Resident Proposals
Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) has begun direct communication with residents in order to incorporate on-the-ground feedback into municipal administration.
On January 20, Gyeongsan City held the "2026 Bukbu-dong On-Site Resident Dialogue" in the second-floor conference room of the Bukbu-dong Administrative Welfare Center to listen to the voices of the community.
The event was attended by Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyunil, Provincial Assemblywoman Park Chaea, Gyeongsan City Council members Kwon Jungseok, Lee Kyungwon, and Kim Jeongsuk, as well as around 16 resident representatives. Participants freely exchanged opinions not only on key issues in Bukbu-dong but also on the overall municipal administration.
This resident dialogue departed from the traditional report- and explanation-centered meetings, instead providing an open forum where residents could directly ask questions and make suggestions. Residents shared a wide range of opinions, from inconveniences in daily life to mid- and long-term regional development topics.
The main topics discussed included: ▲ establishing measures to address delays in the Gyeongsan Daeim Public Housing District development project ▲ proposing remodeling of government offices to improve resident convenience ▲ resolving inconveniences caused by the closure of the Daedong Village access road ▲ and the need to assign permanent management personnel to the Gam-mot facility. These were primarily issues directly affecting residents' daily lives.
In particular, relevant municipal officials also attended the event, providing immediate explanations for issues that could be addressed on the spot. For matters requiring further review, they promised to communicate follow-up results at a later date.
Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyunil stated, "The valuable feedback from residents will serve as the foundation for building a better Bukbu-dong," adding, "We will continue to pursue field-oriented communication and administration to create changes that citizens can truly feel."
