Icheon City to Hold 'SME Support Program Briefing Session' on February 3

This session will feature participation from related organizations, including the city government, the Gyeonggi Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science and Technology, Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, Gyeonggi Technopark, and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, to provide a comprehensive overview of this year's support programs. Attending business representatives will also receive a guidebook summarizing the various support programs for easy reference.

This year, the city will implement a total of 23 support programs across five sectors: financial support, exports, research and development (R&D), growth and market expansion, and improvement of working and residential environments. Notably, four new corporate programs have been added this year, focusing on high-growth potential areas such as advanced materials, parts and equipment industries, international certification for exports, startups, and worker training.

The city will concentrate support on R&D and technological advancement for specialized companies in materials, parts, and equipment, and will newly introduce a program to assist with international certification to lower barriers for export companies entering overseas markets. To ensure sustainable business growth, the city will also provide customized training to strengthen business management capabilities and enhance workers' job skills.

Additionally, the city plans to expand the number of companies eligible for overseas exhibition participation support, overseas market development delegations, and the star company development program, while increasing the limits for airline and export logistics cost support.

Kim Kyeonghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "We will actively identify and develop programs that reflect the needs of businesses and strive to create an environment where SMEs can continue to grow and thrive."
