Application Period Open Until February 5
Gwangju Buk-gu is publicly recruiting new members for its district choir, which will communicate with the local community through beautiful harmonies.
On January 21, Gwangju Buk-gu announced that it will select new members for the "Buk-gu Choir" and the "Senior Choir," both of which are operated to promote local arts and culture and to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy cultural experiences.
The district choirs hold annual regular concerts, perform at district-hosted events, and engage in various activities such as volunteer performances for marginalized groups.
There are two recruitment categories: the "Buk-gu Choir," open to women aged 20 to 64, and the "Senior Choir," open to all residents aged 65 and above regardless of gender.
Any resident whose registered address is in Buk-gu as of the application date, and who can faithfully participate in twice-weekly regular rehearsals and various performances if selected as a member, is eligible to apply.
The application period is from January 26 to February 5. Applicants must complete the required documents, including the application form, and submit them in person to the Culture and Arts Division of Buk-gu Office, or send them by mail or email.
Members will be selected through a document review, a practical audition, and an interview. The practical audition will be held at 2:00 p.m. on February 10 at the Buk-gu Culture Center, where participants will sing one song of their choice and then attend an interview. Final successful candidates will be notified individually.
Moon In, Mayor of Buk-gu, said, "The district choir serves as a cultural ambassador, leading the development of local arts and culture and nurturing the emotional well-being of residents," and added, "We look forward to the enthusiastic participation of residents who are full of talent and passion."
