Hwasun County, South Jeolla Province, announced on January 21 that officials from the Daedong-myeon Residents’ Association in Hampyeong County visited the Sapyeong Laundry in Hwasun on January 16 to benchmark its operations.

This visit was organized to explore effective management strategies for the upcoming mobile welfare service (blanket laundry support) project planned in Daedong-myeon. A total of eight participants, including officials from the Daedong-myeon office and executives from the Residents’ Association, attended the event.

On the day of the visit, they shared on-site experiences through explanations of the project’s background and current operations, tours of the facilities and equipment, and discussions on the operational system, staffing structure, and budget management.

An official from Daedong-myeon commented, “I was impressed by the systematic and stable operation of Sapyeong Laundry,” adding, “We plan to adapt these operational methods to fit our local circumstances and contribute to improving residents’ convenience and welfare.”

Yang Bonam, Head of Integrated Care, stated, “Sapyeong Laundry is more than just a laundry space-it is a welfare facility closely connected to daily life, easing the burdens of seniors with mobility difficulties and vulnerable groups. I hope that this kind of customized welfare service for residents will spread to other regions and further warm our local communities.”
