Geumcheon District Selected as 'Excellent Institution' for Youth Support Projects

Geumcheon District in Seoul (Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) announced on January 21 that it has been selected as an 'Excellent' institution in the performance evaluation of the '2025 Youth Challenge Support Project and Youth Growth Project' organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

The Youth Challenge Support Project and Youth Growth Project are public initiatives by the Ministry of Employment and Labor that provide customized counseling and competency-building programs for young people who have given up on job searching and those vulnerable to employment, supporting them in finding jobs and setting career paths.

This evaluation comprehensively reflected the appropriateness of project management, youth participation results, employment and career linkage outcomes, program effectiveness, and connections to local industries.

Through the 2025 Youth Challenge Support Project, Geumcheon District provided tailored programs to 132 young people who had given up on job searching and, in parallel with the Youth Growth Project, supported a total of 1,035 young people with information and educational programs.

The implementing agency, 'Seoul Youth Center Geumcheon Cheongchun Building,' received a commendation from the Minister of Employment and Labor in recognition of its contribution to supporting youth employment, career development, and long-term retention. Its active utilization of collaborative networks with G-Valley tenant companies and related organizations was highly evaluated.

This year, the district plans to expand the Youth Challenge Support Project to support 120 to 130 young people and the Youth Project from 1,065 to 1,400 young people.
