Incheon City Recruits Universities for "Thousand-Won Breakfast" Program...Shared Financial Support

Incheon City is recruiting universities to participate in the "Thousand-Won Breakfast" program, which aims to promote healthy eating habits among university students and expand local rice consumption.

This policy provides breakfast to university students in the Incheon area for 1,000 won per meal. The government, Incheon City, and the universities will share the financial burden, and rice produced in the Ganghwa region will be additionally supplied to support the initiative.

Universities located in Incheon (including campuses) that wish to participate must submit an application and an operational plan by January 30. The results of the selection process will be individually notified to each university next month.

Universities selected for the program will provide breakfast at on-campus cafeterias from March to December. The city expects that this project will reduce the financial burden on students, help establish a healthy eating culture, and revitalize local rice consumption.

Mayor Yoo Jeongbok stated, "This is an important policy to help university students start their day in a healthy way," adding, "We hope that many universities will participate so that students can enjoy breakfast without financial burden."
