Taiwan's CVC Technologies to Build Research Complex in Pyeongtaek Poseung District

Taiwanese pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer CVC Technologies will establish a research center and related facilities in the Poseung District of Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it held an investment attraction briefing (IR) in Taiwan from January 19 to 21 and signed an investment agreement with CVC Technologies.

Under the agreement, Chang Sung Softgel, the Korean subsidiary of CVC Technologies, will invest-including 3 billion won for land acquisition-to build advanced pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing facilities, such as medical capsule production equipment and pharmaceutical packaging machinery, as well as a research and development (R&D) center and testing and evaluation facilities within the Poseung District of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone.

This investment agreement is particularly significant as it is the result of ongoing cooperation with a company identified at the Korea investment attraction briefing (IR) jointly held with KOTRA in May last year. It represents a strategic investment attraction case achieved through continuous exchanges and consultations.

With this investment, the Poseung District in Pyeongtaek is expected to become an industrial hub integrating advanced pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing and research functions, contributing to the formation of an industrial cluster linked with domestic and international medical device companies.

In particular, the Poseung District boasts a strategic location at the center of the bio-pharmaceutical research and development cluster that connects Songdo in Incheon, Baegot in Siheung, Osong in North Chungcheong Province, and Daejeon. It offers optimal conditions as a base for advanced pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing that integrates research and production functions.
