On January 20, the Gwangju Namgu Disabled Association and the Hope Bank of Love Gwangju-Jeonnam announced that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote community coexistence and enhance welfare for people with disabilities.
The signing ceremony, held that morning at the Gwangju Namgu Disabled Association, was attended by Kim Jeongsul, President of the Gwangju Namgu Disabled Association, Yang Yonghyeon, President of the Hope Bank of Love Gwangju-Jeonnam, and officials from both organizations.
The two organizations have maintained an ongoing cooperative relationship through sharing activities for vulnerable groups in the region. Notably, last summer they led practical welfare support initiatives such as the "Filling the Refrigerator" campaign and, in winter, the distribution of heating supplies.
Through this MOU, the organizations agreed to collaborate in various areas, including: jointly promoting projects to improve welfare for people with disabilities; spreading a culture of sharing within the community; engaging in solidarity activities to support vulnerable groups; and establishing a sustainable cooperation network.
Following the signing, a rice cake soup sharing event was held, providing an opportunity to share warmth and care with local people with disabilities and vulnerable groups.
Kim Jeongsul, President of the Gwangju Namgu Disabled Association, stated, "This MOU is not a symbolic agreement, but a promise to realize welfare that can be truly felt in the field. We will continue to engage in practical welfare activities together with the local community."
Yang Yonghyeon, President of the Hope Bank of Love Gwangju-Jeonnam, said, "When the private sector, public institutions, and organizations join forces, the impact of welfare is multiplied. We will continue to work in solidarity with various partners to create a warm and caring local community."
Going forward, the two organizations plan to hold regular consultations and jointly promote projects to implement the agreement in detail and achieve tangible results in improving community welfare.
