Dongyeon Kim, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, announced plans to hire additional personnel for the management of local tax delinquencies.
On the 20th, Governor Kim posted on his social networking service (SNS), stating, "Gyeonggi Province will realize tax justice," and added, "The management of local tax delinquencies was discussed at today's Cabinet meeting."
He continued, "I once again confirmed the President's strong commitment," and introduced, "Gyeonggi Province succeeded in collecting 140 billion won ahead of schedule, reaching the target amount in just 80 days since launching the '100-Day Operation for Collecting Large Tax Delinquencies.'"
He particularly emphasized, "The amount collected is equivalent to the two-year budget for eco-friendly school meals in Gyeonggi Province," and added, "The real estate assets of Choi Eunsun, who ranks first nationwide for individual tax delinquencies, have also entered the public auction process."
Furthermore, he stated, "Tax justice is a promise made by the entire community," and pledged, "To keep this promise, we will hire additional collection personnel and, in cooperation with the central government, pursue the goal of 'zero habitual large-scale tax evasion' with even greater strength until the very end."
