This project aims for completion in the first half of 2026, with a total budget of 4.7 billion won (200 million won from the national government, 1.4 billion won from the provincial government, and 3.1 billion won from the city government). The city plans to transform the aging existing facilities into experience-oriented content, creating a smart tourism infrastructure focused on visitors.
The redevelopment project involves remodeling previously unused spaces such as the cultural experience center, history center, ecology center, and restaurant, and converting them into a media art theater, 4D experience center, cultural experience center, and glamping cafe.
Key facilities will include the "media art theater," where visitors can enjoy the nature of Mongolia through audiovisual experiences; the "4D experience center," where visitors can use all five senses to experience the birth of the Mongol Empire; the "cultural experience center," where visitors can try the traditional Shagai game and Mongolian costumes; and the "glamping cafe," where tea and Mongolian snacks can be enjoyed in a Ger-style space.
Through this project, the city plans to restructure the Mongolian Cultural Village from an exhibition-oriented space to one focused on participation and hands-on experiences, and to establish it as a unique experiential tourist destination by integrating cultural and technological content.
A Namyangju City official stated, "This project will serve as a turning point to reinvent the Mongolian Cultural Village as an exotic and distinctive cultural tourism attraction unique to Namyangju," and added, "We will strive to develop it into a stay-type tourist destination where urban and natural environments harmonize, through the integration of cultural and technological content."
Meanwhile, in 2024, the city remodeled the equestrian performance hall to create the new outdoor performance venue "Nomadic Dream Hall," and plans to establish a "Healing Working Center" in the future, utilizing the existing performers' residence to accommodate workcations and small-scale workshops.
