The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on January 20 that the medical corporation Gapyeong Medical Foundation participated in the Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign and donated approximately 37 million won.
The donation ceremony was held on the second floor of the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae Sharing Culture Center, attended by Koo Je-gil, Chairman of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, other officials from the Community Chest, Kim Sooyoung, Chairman of Gapyeong Medical Foundation, Jang Changsoo, Director, and other executives and staff members from the foundation.
The donated funds consisted of 14 million won from Gapyeong Medical Foundation, a personal donation of 20 million won from Chairman Kim Sooyoung, and a collective donation of 3,416,000 won from the foundation's executives and staff. The funds will be used for various social welfare projects to support vulnerable groups in the region and to address welfare blind spots.
Gapyeong Medical Foundation is recognized as the 12th Honorary Donor Company in the Gwangju area and has been leading the spread of a culture of sharing in the local community through continuous large-scale donations and social contribution activities. In addition, Chairman Kim Sooyoung is a member of the Gwangju Honor Society (No. 184) and consistently practices social responsibility and the value of sharing.
Kim Sooyoung, Chairman of Gapyeong Medical Foundation, stated, "I believe that giving back the trust and love received from the local community is an important role of a medical institution," and added, "We will continue to stand by neighbors in need and carry on with ongoing acts of sharing."
Koo Je-gil, Chairman of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, said, "Gapyeong Medical Foundation has already been making a positive impact on the local community as an honorary donor company," and added, "We will make sure that this donation is delivered with care so that it can provide practical help to neighbors in need."
