Seongju County to Provide Up to 300,000 Won in "Housing Brokerage Fee" Support for Vulnerable Groups

For Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and Near-Poverty Households
Benefits for Home Contracts Under 100 Million Won

On January 20, Seongju County (Governor Lee Byunghwan) announced that it will actively implement the "Housing Brokerage Fee Support Program" to reduce the housing cost burden for economically vulnerable groups and help them settle stably.

This program is designed to improve housing welfare for low-income households by subsidizing brokerage fees incurred during home purchase or lease agreements.

The support is available to recipients of basic livelihood security and near-poverty households under the National Basic Living Security Act. Eligible applicants who purchase or enter into a lease agreement (jeonse or monthly rent) for a home in Seongju County with a transaction amount of 100 million won or less, and complete a move-in report, can receive up to 300,000 won in brokerage fee support.

Given that brokerage fees for homes priced at 100 million won or less generally range from about 250,000 to 500,000 won for sales and about 200,000 to 300,000 won for leases, this support will significantly reduce the burden of brokerage fees.

Applications can be submitted in person at the Civil Affairs Division of Seongju County, and the program will be retroactively applied to contracts signed on or after January 1, 2025.

A Seongju County official stated, "We hope this program will help reduce the initial housing cost burden for vulnerable groups and provide practical assistance for their stable housing settlement."
