Planning, Marketing, and OTT Specialization Courses Offered
Generative AI Training Introduced... Applications Open from February 9
The government is seeking prospective talent to lead the future of K-dramas.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Drama Production Association announced on January 20 that they are recruiting forty trainees for the first half of the 2026 Broadcasting and Video Talent Training Institute program.
The training is divided into two main tracks. The ▲ Planning, Production, and Marketing Course, which covers the overall drama production process and will admit approximately thirty trainees, runs from March to the end of August. The ▲ OTT Content Specialization Course, a more advanced practical program for around ten trainees, will run from March to early December. Applications will be accepted from February 9 to February 20.
The most notable feature of this year's curriculum is the introduction of training on generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Trainees will practice the latest production processes, such as visualizing images or creating videos using AI, based on their own project proposals and scripts.
The program will also place greater emphasis on practical experience. In addition to mentoring by active professionals and internships at production companies, the OTT specialization course will involve the actual production of a one-act drama. Last year, trainees produced a two-part drama titled "Eternity of the Moment," which is currently available on Wavve. Applications can be submitted through the Broadcasting and Video Talent Training Institute or the Korea Drama Production Association websites.
