From Chart Analysis to Order Execution on a Single Screen
Order Cancellation and Average Price Check All at Once
On January 20, Kakao Pay Securities introduced the "Chart Order" feature, which allows users to analyze charts and place orders on a single screen. By enabling users to execute orders directly while viewing the chart without switching screens, the company expects to significantly reduce both the number of steps and the time required in the trading process.
The Chart Order function supports both market and limit orders directly from the chart screen. For limit orders, users can set their desired order price by using either a long tap or drag gesture on the chart itself. This feature is designed so that users can intuitively check price movements and levels, and then immediately place an order at their chosen entry point. Market orders can also be placed instantly at any desired moment while viewing the chart.
Order management is also handled within the chart. When a limit order is placed, an "Order in Progress Line" appears on the chart, allowing users to check the current order status at a glance. By tapping this line, users can cancel the order without navigating to a separate screen. Upon execution, the average purchase price is updated in real time on the chart.
This feature is expected to be especially useful for users who trade stocks with rapid price fluctuations in short cycles. It is available for both Korean and U.S. regular stock markets, as well as pre-market and after-hours trading, and is provided without restriction across all chart time intervals. However, it is currently applied primarily to comprehensive and stock accounts, with the exception of pension savings and ISA accounts.
In implementing the Chart Order feature, Kakao Pay Securities focused on creating a user experience (UX) that seamlessly connects "investment decision-making" with "execution speed." In the future, the company plans to enhance the feature by integrating various indicators, analytical tools, and content to help interpret market trends, thereby improving users’ investment understanding.
Kakao Pay Securities stated, "From the perspective of users who need to make immediate decisions while viewing charts, any delay caused by switching screens can become a real cost, so we have redesigned the UX. Users will be able to experience a trading environment where analysis, ordering, and confirmation all flow as a single, seamless process."
