Enhancing Convenience for Civil Petitioners,
Experience Both Agriculture and Country Living Simultaneously
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province is offering free support for drafting blueprints for rural stay-type shelters, which serve as temporary accommodations where visitors can experience both agriculture and country living, in order to enhance convenience for civil petitioners.
Rural stay-type shelters can be installed within a total area of up to 33 square meters on farmland and may include auxiliary facilities such as parking spaces, decks, and septic tanks. According to guidelines from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the shelter must be adjacent to an existing road to allow fire truck access, and fire safety equipment such as extinguishers and detectors must be installed to strengthen fire and safety standards. Installation in disaster-prone areas is restricted.
The eligibility of the farmland for installation must first be confirmed by the urban development and farmland management officials. Afterwards, applicants can file a temporary building construction report with the building permit division of the same department and simultaneously apply for the blueprint drafting service.
Kim Seokwon, Director of Urban Development and Permitting, stated, "These stay-type shelters will lead to an increase in the resident population, contribute to revitalizing local consumption, and, in the long term, serve as a bridge to encourage urban-to-rural migration. We expect them to establish themselves as a new lifestyle that connects urban and rural communities, going beyond simple structures."
