Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on January 20 that it is recruiting farms to participate in the "Facility Horticulture Agricultural Heating and Cooling Facility Support Project" in order to respond to climate change and alleviate the burden of heating and cooling costs for facility horticulture farms.

This project aims to create a stable environment for crop production and cultivation at facility horticulture farms and to improve energy efficiency. It supports the installation of agricultural electric heating facilities (electric air heaters), private solar power systems, and agricultural heating and cooling units.

The project is open to farms that cultivate vegetables, flowers, fruit, or mushrooms in facilities of at least 330 square meters. Farms that have received G-Mark, eco-friendly, or GAP certification, or have enrolled in Gyeonggi Province's crop disaster insurance (for horticultural facilities), may be given priority for support.

Farmers and agricultural corporations wishing to participate in the project should visit the agricultural policy team at their district office and submit an application form and supporting documents by February 3.

A Goyang Special City official stated, "We hope that the Facility Horticulture Agricultural Heating and Cooling Facility Support Project will be of great help to farmers struggling with rising management costs and will also contribute to the realization of sustainable agriculture."
