Support for High-Performance Window and Door Replacement and Insulation Reinforcement
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting applicants for the "2026 Passive Remodeling Support Project for Housing" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the construction sector and promote eco-friendly renovations (green remodeling) in the private sector, in accordance with the "Paju City Ordinance on Supporting the Creation of Green Buildings."
The purpose of this project is to support construction work that improves the energy performance of old houses, such as replacing windows and doors or enhancing insulation inside and outside buildings, thereby reducing heating costs and making residential environments more comfortable.
Eligible applicants are houses that received occupancy approval at least 10 years ago under the Building Act, including detached houses (single-family and multi-family) and multi-unit residences (multi-household and row houses). Applications must be submitted by the homeowner listed on the building registration certificate. In the case of jointly owned properties, the representative owner must submit written consent from all co-owners (100%).
Eligible construction work includes repairs to improve energy performance, with at least one of the following required: replacement of high-performance windows and doors, or insulation reinforcement of interior/exterior walls, ceilings, or floors (excluding heating system work). Optional work such as replacement of high-efficiency lighting and boilers, application of heat-reflective coatings, as well as ancillary work like demolition and waste disposal (if applicable), are also covered.
The maximum subsidy is up to 10 million won based on construction costs, with the support rate varying by total cost: 90% for costs under 5 million won, 80% for costs between 5 million and 10 million won, and 70% for costs between 10 million and 15 million won.
The application deadline is February 20. Applications can be submitted in person at the Permit Management Division of Paju City Hall, or by email or fax.
Bae Junwoo, Head of the Permit Management Division, stated, "We will actively support improvements to windows and insulation performance in aging homes to reduce citizens' energy costs and promote the widespread practice of carbon neutrality in daily life."
