The amount of national funds secured by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province for 2026 is a total of 10.26 trillion won, ranking fifth among all provinces and metropolitan cities in the country, following Gyeonggi, North Gyeongsang, South Chungcheong, and South Gyeongsang Provinces.
This figure surpasses those of Incheon (6.4 trillion won) and Busan (10.2 trillion won), both of which have more than twice the population of Gangwon Province.
In particular, when calculating the total national funds in terms of population, the amount secured per capita is about 6.8 million won, which is significantly higher than the national average of 4.13 million won.
The province believes that this achievement in securing national funds is the result of consensus at the government level on the necessity and importance of the major projects being promoted by the province. Going forward, the province plans to focus its administrative capacity on enhancing the completeness of project implementation and tangible outcomes, so that national funds are not just about scale.
