Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) announced on January 19 that it carried out regular social contribution activities, including the Love Blood Donation and briquette delivery volunteer work, over two days on January 15 and 16 to mark its 22nd anniversary.
On the first day, January 15, a blood donation event was held with related organizations such as the Busan Port Security Corporation and the Busan Port Facility Management Center. BPA conducts blood donation campaigns four times a year on a regular basis. This particular event was held in response to the seasonal decline in blood supply during the winter.
On the anniversary day, January 16, BPA donated 10,000 briquettes to vulnerable groups near Busan Port and delivered 1,300 briquettes to households in the Beomil-dong area of Dong-gu, Busan.
On the 16th, BPA President Song Sanggeun and employees participated in briquette delivery volunteer work.
President Song Sanggeun, along with executives, several department heads, union leaders, and employees who wished to participate, joined the volunteer work on this day, with a total of 35 people from both labor and management coming together for the cause.
Since 2022, BPA has been collaborating with the Busan Briquette Bank, donating 10,000 briquettes every year on its anniversary and jointly delivering them through labor-management volunteer activities. This year, following the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan, the volunteer work focused on Dong-gu, an area with high briquette demand, to strengthen ties with the local community.
Song Sanggeun, President of Busan Port Authority, said, "It is meaningful that both labor and management could come together in the field for volunteer work on our anniversary," adding, "I hope this activity will provide some warmth to residents near Busan Port during the winter."
