This event was organized to enhance the stability and productivity of greenhouse vegetable cultivation, as well as to strengthen information sharing and organizational cohesion among members. In particular, a specialized training session was held on stable crop production and soil management, which are key elements of greenhouse vegetable cultivation management.
During the training, Park Jeongsik, an official from the Pocheon and Yeoncheon Office of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, provided a practical, case-based overview of the Positive List System (PLS) for pesticide residue management and emphasized the importance of agricultural product safety management. Jang Jaeun, an agricultural researcher from the Agricultural Environment Team at the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, addressed the issue of soil environment degradation caused by climate change and continuous cropping, and introduced soil management technologies to overcome these challenges.
At the annual general meeting held after the training, members shared the achievements of the research group in 2025 and engaged in in-depth discussions on the direction of the organization’s operation and strategies to revitalize the research group in 2026.
President Jang Seongsan stated, "The dedication and efforts of our members have played a major role in enhancing the competitiveness of Pocheon’s greenhouse vegetables and raising their profile nationwide. Going forward, let us continue to grow together as a leading organization representing greenhouse vegetables through practical technical training and joint activities."
Lee Kyungsook, Director of the Pocheon City Agricultural Technology Center, offered words of encouragement, saying, "Despite difficult conditions such as climate change and labor shortages, our members’ proactive efforts have helped maintain the field. I hope that this year, too, you will continue to be a strong driving force for the advancement of agriculture in Pocheon City, based on mutual cooperation and communication."
The Pocheon City Greenhouse Vegetable Association and Research Group consists of 16 crop groups and 209 members, producing spinach, young napa cabbage, young radish, and zucchini in facilities covering 685 hectares, supplying them through major distribution networks nationwide. Last year, the group contributed to strengthening agricultural competitiveness and fostering community coexistence through various activities, including the dissemination of technologies to cope with abnormal weather, smart irrigation training, and donations to the local community. They also widely promoted the excellence of Pocheon’s young radish and spinach through media outreach.
