LS Cable Achieves 'Leadership' Rating in Global Climate Change Response Assessment

LS Cable has further strengthened its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management competitiveness by being the only company in the domestic industry to receive a 'Leadership' rating in a global climate change response assessment.

On January 19, LS Cable announced that it had achieved an A- rating in the 2025 climate change response assessment released by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an upgrade of one level compared to the previous year, thus entering the 'Leadership' tier. CDP is a leading climate change disclosure and evaluation platform used by major financial institutions and global companies worldwide. It comprehensively evaluates companies based on their climate strategies, greenhouse gas emissions management, responses to climate risks and opportunities, and supply chain engagement, assigning ratings from A to D. The A and A- ratings correspond to the highest 'Leadership' tier.

The CDP rating is also used as a standard for supply chain carbon management by major global clients. Leading global ordering parties and customers consider CDP ratings when assessing their partners' climate response levels, and LS Cable is now seen as having further enhanced its credibility in the global market by achieving the Leadership rating.

LS Cable was highly evaluated for managing carbon emission data on a consolidated basis, including its domestic and overseas production subsidiaries, and for verifying this data in accordance with global standards. The company also received positive recognition for obtaining approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its 2050 net zero target and for establishing plans to expand the use of renewable energy. LS Cable plans to further advance its climate response capabilities in the future. Starting this year, it will incorporate an internal carbon pricing system into investment decision-making to systematically manage carbon risks, and will gradually raise the level of carbon management across its entire supply chain through supply chain due diligence and partner training.

Jung Kyunghwan, Head of ESG Management Strategy at LS Cable, stated, "Achieving the CDP Leadership rating demonstrates that LS Cable's climate strategy and execution have reached the highest global standards," adding, "We will fulfill our responsibility as a company contributing to the construction of sustainable power infrastructure and the realization of a carbon-neutral society."
