"Fostering Innovative Startups"... Kibo Recruiting Participants for 'Kibo Venture Camp'

Special Tracks Including Regional and ESG... About 70 Companies to Be Selected
Tailored Acceleration Programs Including Comprehensive Consulting

On January 19, the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced that it is recruiting participant companies for the 18th Kibo Venture Camp, a program designed to discover and nurture innovative startups with cutting-edge technology and business ideas.

Kibo Venture Camp is a startup support program operated by Kibo in collaboration with private accelerators, in line with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Comprehensive Strategy to Become a Global Top 4 Venture Powerhouse." By combining Kibo's experience in supporting technology startups with the expertise of private accelerators, the program has discovered and nurtured innovative startups, providing tailored growth support and follow-up investment connections to a cumulative total of 890 startups.

Eligible applicants are innovative startups or prospective entrepreneurs within three years of founding as of the announcement date. After a first-stage document review and a second-stage presentation evaluation, approximately 70 companies will be selected. In addition to the general track, there are five special tracks: regional balance, ESG (environmental, social, and governance), New Growth 4.0, prospective entrepreneurs, and global.

Selected companies will receive a variety of acceleration programs, including comprehensive consulting for establishing customized growth strategies for startups, sharing of field-specific expert experience and success know-how, and connections to accelerators, venture capital (VC), angel investors, and VC networking. Companies selected through the newly established global track will be provided with tailored programs to support their entry into global markets, such as developing overseas expansion strategies. Companies selected for the ESG track will have the opportunity to be recommended for the National Climate Crisis Response Committee's "Net Zero Challenge X Project."

Additionally, Kibo plans to provide follow-up support for Venture Camp graduates, including technology guarantees, guarantee-linked investments, technology transfer, and technology and management consulting, covering both financial and non-financial support.

Director Lee Sangchang of Kibo stated, "Kibo Venture Camp is Kibo's core startup support program, supporting the early growth of promising startups based on collaboration with private accelerators. We will continue to expand our support so that startups with innovative technologies can grow into unicorns."

Further details can be found on the Kibo website and in the business announcements section of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' K-Startup portal.
