Gyeonggi Province is implementing the 'Clean Service' support project for 280 child households.
On January 18, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out the 'Child Household Clean Service' project, which aims to improve the living conditions of households with children living in substandard environments such as rooftop rooms or semi-basement units. Applications will be accepted from January 19 to March 13.
To improve living conditions and hygiene, the project provides 'Clean Services' such as disinfection and pest control, wallpaper and floor replacement, and cleaning, as well as supplies including air conditioners, air purifiers, washing machines, and dryers. Since being selected for the 'Lottery Fund Public Project' organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in 2023, the province has supported 878 households over the past three years.
This year, Gyeonggi Province plans to provide Clean Services to a total of 280 households.
Eligible applicants are child households living in semi-basement or rooftop units, or in homes below the minimum housing standard area (43 square meters for a family of four), with children under the age of 18 as of January 1, 2026. Households with an income at or below 100% of the median income are eligible, with priority given to basic livelihood security recipients, single-parent families, near-poverty households, households with disabled members, and families with multiple children.
Eligible child households that meet the housing or income criteria can apply at the administrative welfare center in their district of residence. Selected households will be individually notified at the end of March.
Kim Taesu, Director of Housing Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We are focusing our support on households in urgent need of improvements to their living conditions and hygiene so that children can grow up in a healthy and safe environment. We will actively identify child households in welfare blind spots in cooperation with related organizations and strive to provide practical assistance."
