This program was organized to raise awareness about the importance of protecting personal information in daily life and to support the creation of a safer digital environment, as cybercrimes such as voice phishing and smishing become increasingly sophisticated.
A total of 45 participants, including students and teachers from middle and high schools in the Naju area, university student mentors, and officials from related organizations, attended the education session at the T Tower in Euljiro, Seoul.
SK Telecom introduced students to major types and cases of cybercrimes such as voice phishing and smishing, examples of responding to cyber threats using AI technology, and key principles for protecting personal information.
Students were able to understand security threats they may encounter in everyday life and learn practical methods to safeguard their personal information. In addition, through a Q&A session with industry experts, they broadened their understanding of the security industry and related careers, gaining an opportunity to explore potential career paths.
Afterwards, the students visited SK Telecom's flagship store, T Factory Seongsu, where they experienced the exhibition program "For My Next Chapter." They created a Mandal-Art plan for 2026 and took time to specify their goals and directions for the year.
Student Shin Hongjun shared, "Listening to the explanations about security technology, I realized that methods for responding to cybercrimes are advancing. I felt that individual capabilities in information protection and security awareness have become even more important."
SK Telecom CPO Cha Hobum stated, "We are continuously strengthening our information protection systems to create an environment where people can communicate with peace of mind. We hope this program will raise young people's awareness of personal information protection and encourage them to put it into practice in their daily lives."
