Sejong Center Signs MOU with Busan and Gyeongnam Public Venues for Joint Musical Production and Distribution

This agreement was pursued to establish a collaborative system for creation, production, and distribution involving both Seoul and regional areas, aiming for balanced development of Korea's performing arts ecosystem. Representatives and officials from each institution attended the signing ceremony, agreeing to share production capabilities and resources through cooperation among public performance venues and to build a sustainable collaboration model. Sejong Center for the Performing Arts plans to share the specialized production system and creative assets accumulated by the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Company with regional venues, while regional performance venues will directly participate in the entire production process, gaining experience and building capacity through joint productions.

The main points of the agreement include: ▲ joint musical production and content distribution cooperation; ▲ establishing a stable production and distribution system between Seoul and regional areas; and ▲ promoting joint projects for mutual development.

As the first outcome of the agreement, the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Company of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and four performance venues in Busan and Gyeongnam will jointly produce the Busan-Gyeongnam version of the musical "Again, Spring," which will tour the Busan and Gyeongnam regions in 2026. The tour will begin at the Changwon 3.15 Art Hall (October 17-18), followed by the Miryang Arirang Art Center (October 24-25), Gimhae Western Cultural Center (October 31-November 1), and Busan Cinema Center (November 7-8).

An Ho-sang, President of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, stated, "This agreement marks a meaningful starting point for Seoul and regional public performance venues to combine their strengths and jointly create new production and distribution models. Through joint productions, we will share achievements with the regions and accumulate creative experience together, thereby building a sustainable cycle and growth structure for the performing arts ecosystem."
