On this day, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the afternoon and passed the second Comprehensive Special Investigation Act with 172 votes in favor and 2 against out of 174 members present. Lawmakers from the People Power Party did not participate in the vote.

The filibuster, which began immediately after the bill was introduced the previous day, ended after 24 hours following a motion for closure by the Democratic Party of Korea and other pro-government lawmakers.

The second Comprehensive Special Investigation Act was established to further investigate unresolved suspicions after the conclusion of the "three major special investigations" (insurrection, Kim Keon-hee, and the case involving Sergeant Chae).
