This event was a program jointly operated by five consortium universities participating in the Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Talent Development Project. It was designed to strengthen students' convergent thinking and collaboration skills through inter-university exchanges. Participating students engaged in practical learning on regional and industrial issues through a variety of educational programs, including joint curriculum lectures, cultural field trips, extracurricular activities, and an idea contest.
The "Su-Gun-Su-Gun" team, composed of Hallym University students, won the Empathy Award in the idea contest with their proposal for a "digital solution for the development of marine culture." The team suggested reconstructing Yeosu's marine culture and historical resources into storytelling-based digital content, and was highly praised for their planning capabilities that combined regional characteristics with technology, as well as for the potential for broad social empathy.
Kim Minho, Director of the Hallym University HUSS Project Group, stated, "This Industry-Academic Cooperation Academy provided a meaningful opportunity for students to collaborate with peers from other universities and consider regional issues from a convergent perspective. Winning the idea contest is an external demonstration of the learning achievements and practical competencies that Hallym University students have accumulated."
Meanwhile, the HUSS Industry-Academic Cooperation Academy plans to continue operating joint curricular and extracurricular programs based on collaboration among consortium universities, contributing to the cultivation of convergence talent grounded in the humanities and social sciences and to the dissemination of regional education outcomes.
