Election of 4th Executive Team
Full-Scale On-Site Monitoring for the Next Two Years
Gimcheon City is accelerating its efforts to create a women-friendly city by further strengthening citizen participation, aiming for administrative services that citizens can tangibly feel in their daily lives.
On January 15, Gimcheon City announced that it held a regular meeting of the 4th Women-Friendly City Citizen Participation Group in the meeting room on the second floor of City Hall, where it elected new executives and discussed future operational directions and activity plans for 2026.
About 20 members of the Citizen Participation Group attended the meeting. Following the appointment ceremony for the group members and a basic training session to enhance understanding of women-friendly city policies held on December 11, 2025, Gimcheon City has now established an organizational operation system and laid the groundwork for full-scale activities through this regular meeting.
Over the next two years, the 4th Citizen Participation Group will carry out various activities such as policy monitoring for women-friendly city initiatives, participation in educational programs, and running citizen campaigns. The group will also identify improvement tasks that citizens experience in their daily lives and deliver them to city administration.
Bae Jeonghee, who was elected as the new leader, said, "It is an honor to serve as the leader of the Citizen Participation Group, which forms the foundation for making Gimcheon City a happier and safer place not only for women but for all citizens. I will do my best to help Gimcheon City firmly establish itself as a more advanced women-friendly city."
Since being designated as a women-friendly city in 2020, Gimcheon City has been implementing policies aimed at expanding job opportunities for women, building a family-friendly care system, creating a safe living environment, and guaranteeing opportunities for women to participate in society.
The city plans to actively reflect on-site opinions in municipal administration, focusing on the Citizen Participation Group, in order to achieve tangible results as a women-friendly city.
A Gimcheon City official stated, "A women-friendly city is not a policy for a specific group, but an urban strategy to improve the quality of life for all citizens. Together with the Citizen Participation Group, we will meticulously address everyday inconveniences and continue to expand highly practical policies."
