Musical actor Kai is launching his activities in Japan with the release of his Japanese studio album, "KAI ON MUSICAL-JAPAN."
This album marks Kai's second Japanese studio album, coming 13 years after his first, which was released in 2012. The album features a total of seven tracks, with Kai recording six of them in Japanese.
Kai selected songs mainly from musicals in which he starred, such as "Phantom," "Frankenstein," "Beethoven," and "Excalibur," to record for the album. He also included songs from musicals he did not appear in but holds dear, such as "Elisabeth" and "Wild Gray."
The album includes numbers such as "In Your Dream" (from the musical Frankenstein), "Love Is Cruel" (from the musical Beethoven), "To Become a King" (from the musical Excalibur), "Somewhere" (from the musical Phantom), "Your Eyes" (from the musical Wild Gray), and "I Am My Own" (from the musical Elisabeth).
With half of the tracks originating from Korean original musicals, the album is expected to serve as a bridge, introducing the charm of Korean musicals to Japanese audiences.
The tracks will be available as digital releases on major music platforms, including Melon, starting at 6 p.m. on January 16, 2026.
Alongside the album release, Kai will hold concerts at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo on January 17 and 18, where he will meet local fans. Following his first solo concert in Japan, he plans to continue engaging with the public through performances and media appearances.
