Hurim Atec Completes Development of 'Stage Flooring' Interior Technology for Autonomous and Electric Vehicles

HURIM ATEC, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on January 16 that it has completed the development of Stage Flooring technology for next-generation automotive spaces, including autonomous vehicles and electric vehicles. The company expects this technology to create synergies with finished vehicle manufacturers in the future.

The technology developed by HURIM ATEC is a specialized flooring solution that is more suitable for electric and autonomous vehicles than traditional fiber or nonwoven fabric flooring. It enables the creation of a luxurious interior environment by utilizing a variety of surface materials (fiber, wood) and lighting, while also enhancing practicality by applying materials that are resistant to contamination and easy to clean.

In addition, by developing carpets specifically for autonomous and electric vehicles, the company has completed the premiumization of flooring for autonomous electric cars. Moving away from conventional flooring with monotonous patterns, the new technology allows for a variety of manufacturing methods and design patterns using knit and fabric-type materials. The company also explained that it has developed a bespoke automotive flooring system that allows users to replace the flooring with their preferred shapes and designs.

Furthermore, HURIM ATEC has developed a hidden rail carpet exclusively for autonomous vehicles through ongoing collaboration with finished vehicle manufacturers. This product, as part of an exclusive platform for autonomous vehicles, features a structure that prevents the vehicle body from being exposed when the rail is moved after applying a long rail seat. In addition, the company has completed patent registration for a carpet that enables floor heating by incorporating ondol technology, thereby innovatively improving the next-generation automotive interior environment.

A representative from HURIM ATEC stated, "We have maximized the usability of vehicle interiors with a premium strategy that strengthens design concepts and diversifies materials in line with the new spatial trends of fully autonomous vehicles," adding, "We will continue to enhance our competitiveness in the automotive industry and lead the way in future-oriented technology."
