Woori Financial Launches Savings Account Offering Up to 7.5% to Commemorate Korean Sport & Olympic Committee Partnership

Woori Bank has launched the 'Woori Team Korea Savings Account' to commemorate Woori Financial Group being selected as the 'Official Partner of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee' and to support the national team participating in the upcoming Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics, which will open on February 6.

This product allows one account per person, with a maximum monthly deposit of 300,000 won, and is a 12-month maturity free installment savings account, limited to a total of 100,000 accounts. The base interest rate is 2.5% per annum, and depending on the performance of the Korean national team and customer participation in events, a preferential rate can be added, offering up to a maximum annual interest rate of 7.5%.

The preferential interest rate can be as high as 5.0 percentage points. Specifically, if an Olympic national team athlete wins a medal (0.5 percentage points for a gold medal, 0.2 percentage points for a silver medal, and 0.1 percentage points for a bronze medal), a preferential rate of up to 3.0 percentage points is granted. Additionally, customers can earn up to 1.0 percentage point by posting comments (0.2 percentage points per comment) on the cheering board of 'Woori WON Banking' by the closing day of the Olympics, February 22. If the customer correctly predicts Korea’s final ranking at the time of subscription, an extra 1.0 percentage point preferential rate is provided.

A prize event has also been prepared to support the national athletes. Customers who subscribe to the 'Woori Team Korea Savings Account' and leave a comment on the cheering board by February 28 will be entered into a drawing to win a Starbucks coffee coupon (300 winners).

There is also an event open to everyone, regardless of whether they subscribe to the product. By checking the national team's overall ranking and medal count on the Woori WON Banking event page and entering by February 19, participants will be entered into a drawing to win a Tous Les Jours cake coupon (10 winners) or a Stanley tumbler (10 winners).
