The city is promoting the modernization of the resource recovery facility to minimize environmental pollution and improve efficiency, as the aging facility, which began operations in 2001, is experiencing decreased processing efficiency and increased maintenance costs.
An official from Uijeongbu City stated, "Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the staff who quietly protect the site ahead of the 2026 direct landfill ban, the cleanliness of Uijeongbu is being maintained. The modernization of the resource recovery facility is a key task, and we will do our utmost to ensure it is carried out smoothly with the support of our citizens."
