The 2025 museum education programs were designed with the aim of supporting the establishment of the Pocheon City Museum. To allow citizens to naturally experience Pocheon's history and culture in their daily lives, the programs were structured around a "traveling museum" concept and hands-on activities, which led to high levels of participation and positive feedback.
Tailored, experiential history education was systematically implemented for preschoolers and elementary students. The flagship program, "Every Corner! Pocheon Treasure Hunt Expedition," was held 36 times from April to September. Through board game activities, participants could easily and enjoyably learn about Pocheon's history and national heritage. This program, delivered in a "traveling museum" format, was run at a total of 11 institutions, including 7 elementary schools and 4 preschools in the area, with a total of 763 participants.
From September to October, the "Environmental Fairy Tale Theater - Our Precious Promise" program, which combined experiential exhibition tours with fairy tale theater for preschoolers, was offered at 4 local preschools, attracting 82 participants.
Additionally, from October to December, the board game kits were made available for autonomous use at schools through a rental package initiative, expanding the scope and sustainability of the program. Two schools participated, with a total of 100 students involved.
The city also focused on expanding cultural opportunities for seniors and multicultural families. The program for seniors, "Pocheon and the Scenic Spots of My Life," was designed to encourage participants to reflect on their lives through the scenic sites of Pocheon. It received a very positive response. The program featured a storytelling structure that explored Pocheon's past and present scenic spots, as well as the future landmark-the planned Pocheon City Museum-offering a variety of experiences in each session. It was conducted in partnership with four local senior colleges, with a total of 686 participants.

The program "K-Culture Experience with Pocheon History!" for multicultural families focused on hands-on learning about the history of traditional games in Korea and Pocheon. A total of 18 participants took part, broadening their understanding of local culture.
Lee Eunju, curator in charge of the Pocheon History and Culture Center at Pocheon City Hall, stated, "We will continue to operate customized education and diverse programs that reflect local characteristics for each life stage, so that every citizen can easily and naturally experience history and culture in their daily lives."
In 2026, the Pocheon History and Culture Center plans to continue its existing educational programs while introducing new programs tailored for military personnel, reflecting the city's demographic characteristics, and expanding weekend programs to gradually broaden the range of participants. In addition, by increasing weekend scheduling and providing chartered bus support to improve accessibility, the center aims to enable more citizens to visit and participate in its educational offerings.
