The Developmental Rehabilitation Service is a program that supports the improvement of mental and sensory functions and behavioral development for children with disabilities and children at risk of disability. The service is provided to households with an income at or below 180% of the median income, targeting children under the age of 18 with visual, hearing, language, intellectual, autistic, or brain lesion disabilities, as well as children under the age of 9 who are at risk of disability.

The Language Development Support Service is a program that provides various rehabilitation services, including language development, for children without disabilities under the age of 12 who have parents with disabilities and belong to households with an income at or below 120% of the median income.

With this increase in support, the maximum monthly benefit for the Developmental Rehabilitation Service will be 260,000 won, and for the Language Development Support Service, it will be 240,000 won. This measure is expected to ease the financial burden caused by the rising cost of services each year and help service providers secure highly qualified personnel.

Paju City has secured 31 institutions for the Developmental Rehabilitation Service and 10 institutions for the Language Development Support Service to expand user choices and ensure stable service delivery. In addition, the city conducts on-site guidance and inspections every year to ensure smooth program operation and improve service quality.

Woo Eunjeong, Director of the Department of Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities, stated, "We hope that this increase in support will help alleviate the cost burden of treatment for families with children with disabilities and enable children to receive timely rehabilitation therapy. We will continue to actively pursue policies to promote the welfare of people with disabilities."
