Mapo Agricultural and Marine Products Market to Strengthen Gourmet and Experience Content

Mapo Agricultural and Marine Products Market is centered on fresh foods such as seafood, fruits, and vegetables, consistently meeting daily grocery shopping needs. The market is equipped with an affiliated parking lot, making it convenient for bulk purchases and family visits.

Its proximity to Seoul World Cup Stadium and World Cup Park offers great potential to attract park visitors and local residents. The district plans to expand gourmet and experiential content using fresh foods, aiming to develop the market as an urban cultural tourism hub.

Mangwon-dong World Cup Market to Foster Sports and Culture Themes

Mangwon-dong World Cup Market leverages its location near the well-known Mangwon Market and has recently improved visitor flow and convenience by connecting with the newly renovated "Mangwon-dong Rest Area."

By utilizing the symbolic "World Cup" name, the market will expand themed content that combines sports, culture, and tourism. In particular, the district plans to attract more domestic and international visitors during the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America and the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Mapo District has previously accumulated experience in transforming markets into experiential destinations through the selection of Yonggang-dong Shopping District and Mangwon Market for cultural tourism-type specialized market development projects. The Mangwon Market Merchants Association received the Presidential Award at the 30th Korea Distribution Awards.

Kangsoo Park, Mayor of Mapo District, stated, "This selection is a recognition of the potential of Mapo District's traditional markets," adding, "We will actively support the growth of both markets by leveraging their unique strengths so they become destinations for both domestic and international visitors."
