Business Agreement Signed Between Jinju City, National Jinju Museum, and Jinjumok Cultural Salon
"We will work together to ensure the successful hosting of the '2026 Jinju Chokseokru Special Exhibition' to be held in Jinju this April."
On January 16, Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that it had signed a business agreement for the hosting of the '2026 Jinju Chokseokru Special Exhibition' with the National Jinju Museum and the Jinjumok Cultural Salon at the Entrepreneurs’ Room on the 5th floor of City Hall.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jo Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju; Jang Yongjun, Director of the National Jinju Museum; and Kim Sangsoo, Executive Director of the Jinjumok Cultural Salon, among other officials, who pledged to cooperate for the successful hosting of the special exhibition. This special exhibition, hosted by the Jinjumok Cultural Salon, will be promoted through a public-private partnership to shed new light on the value of Chokseokru.

The '2026 Jinju Chokseokru Special Exhibition' is scheduled to be held in April this year at the National Jinju Museum and the Jinju Municipal Lee Seongja Art Museum. During the exhibition, works related to Chokseokru, known as the most beautiful pavilion in Yeongnam, will be displayed. In particular, more than 50 masterpieces will be exhibited, including oil paintings by the late artist Cho Youngje, widely known as the Chokseokru painter for his landscapes of Jinju Fortress’s Chokseokru, and ink paintings by the late artist Park Saenggwang, regarded as a master of colored ink painting in the history of modern Korean art.
Mayor Jo Kyu-il stated, "I am honored to host the '2026 Jinju Chokseokru Special Exhibition,' and I expect that this agreement will lead to a successful exhibition. Through the successful hosting of this exhibition, I will do my utmost to ensure that the Jinju Fortress Restoration and Maintenance Project currently being promoted by Jinju City is properly implemented, so that Chokseokru can be handed down to future generations as a proud heritage of Jinju."
Meanwhile, with the signing of this agreement regarding the '2026 Jinju Chokseokru Special Exhibition,' Jinju City, the National Jinju Museum, and the Jinjumok Cultural Salon are expected to begin full-scale preparations for the exhibition through working-level consultations.
