At approximately 12:46 p.m. on January 15, a fire broke out at a machine tool manufacturing company in Palyong-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam Province.
The fire resulted in damage to the interior of the factory and equipment, causing property losses estimated at around 23 million won, according to the fire department.
In addition, a man in his 60s attempting to extinguish the fire sustained burns to his face, and a man in his 20s suffered burns to his shoulder. Fortunately, both injuries were minor, and only the man in his 60s visited the hospital on his own.
Aside from these two individuals, all 17 other employees working at the factory at the time of the fire evacuated safely, and no further casualties were reported.
Upon receiving the report, the fire authorities dispatched 34 personnel and 20 pieces of equipment, fully extinguishing the fire by around 1:07 p.m. that day.
The police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
