Studio Dragon to Recycle 2,000 Tons of Waste Wood from Drama Sets

Business Agreement with Hansol Home Deco for Resource Circulation
Waste Disposal Costs Expected to Drop by 50%

Studio Dragon to Recycle 2,000 Tons of Waste Wood from Drama Sets

Studio Dragon announced on January 15 that it had signed a business agreement with Hansol Home Deco at its headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on January 14 to promote the recycling of waste wood from drama sets and to establish an eco-friendly circular system.

The main objective is to collect wood discarded after drama shoots and reprocess it into interior boards (MDF). Until now, drama production sites have generated large amounts of waste during set installation and dismantling. According to Studio Dragon’s own estimates, approximately 100 tons of waste wood are generated per drama production.

The two companies believe that with this system in place, more than 2,000 tons of waste wood can be recycled annually as industrial resources. They also estimate that by reducing the waste disposal process, costs can be reduced by about 50% compared to previous methods.

A Studio Dragon representative stated, "This is an attempt to turn waste generated during production into resources," adding, "We plan to expand ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) cooperation with other industries to create a sustainable production environment."
