The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on January 15 that Hyundai Motor Company will voluntarily conduct a recall for 130,283 units of the Avante (AD) and Venue models due to a continuously variable transmission defect. It was found that foreign substances could enter the internal components, potentially preventing the transmission of driving force. The recall will begin on January 19.
Kia will also implement a recall for 113,793 units of the K3 (BD) for the same reason, starting today. Additionally, 3,895 units of the Kia Sportage, including hybrid models, will be subject to a recall from January 14 due to a software design error that causes the parking distance warning function to fail, making the vehicles non-compliant with safety standards.
For 56,208 units across 24 models, including the Mercedes-Benz E200, a software error in the infotainment control unit may cause the instrument cluster to turn off while driving. Recalls for these vehicles have been underway since January 12. Furthermore, for 39,894 units across 45 models, including the Porsche Cayenne, a recall will begin on January 26 due to the possibility that electromagnetic interference in the vehicle could prevent the surround view camera from functioning.
