As the first trial verdict for former President Yoon Suk-yeol approaches, a one-person protest has begun in Gwangju and is set to continue until the sentencing.

"It Took 406 Days"... Council Member Jung Da-eun Holds One-Person Protest Until Yoon Suk-yeol Verdict Da-eun Jung, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, is holding a one-person protest at the intersection in front of Buk-gu Office in Gwangju on the morning of the 14th, holding a placard with the phrase "Punish Yoon Seok-yeol, the leader of the rebellion."

On the morning of the same day, Assemblywoman Jung began her protest at the intersection in front of Buk-gu Office in Gwangju, holding a placard that read, "Demanding the Punishment of Yoon Suk-yeol, Leader of the Rebellion."

Assemblywoman Jung stated, "It took 406 days from the imposition of martial law, which shocked the entire nation, to the prosecution's sentencing recommendation for Yoon Suk-yeol. Since the special prosecutor has requested the death penalty, the court must also hold him strictly accountable."

She continued, "Yoon Suk-yeol's defense team has prolonged the trial with various delay tactics and tricks, such as the so-called 'bed defense.' As these proceedings were broadcast live on TV, public distrust in the judiciary has grown. Only a swift and stern judgment against the leader of the rebellion can restore trust in the judiciary."

Assemblywoman Jung further emphasized, "The first trial verdict for Yoon Suk-yeol is both the first step and the barometer for the complete end of the rebellion. Now is the time for the judiciary to respond to the demands of the people."
