11th Mobile Division of the Army Appoints Major General Kim Jongyeon as 41st Division Commander

The 11th Mobile Division of the Army announced on January 14 that Major General Kim Jongyeon (Korea Military Academy, Class 31) has taken office as the 41st division commander.

The inauguration ceremony, held that afternoon at the division headquarters and presided over by Lieutenant General Choi Sungjin, commander of the 7th Corps, was attended by division officers and civilian employees, neighboring division and brigade commanders, heads of local organizations, and other distinguished guests. The event proceeded in the following order: national ceremony, reading of orders, transfer of the unit flag, parade, and an address.


In his inaugural address, the new division commander Kim Jongyeon stated that he would strive to build "a unit optimized to defeat the enemy, a unit steadfast in its fundamental duties, and a unit that values people as its highest core value." He further emphasized, "We will create a strong division with overwhelming capabilities and readiness, an offensive spirit, and a division that always wins in battle."


Major General Kim Jongyeon, the 41st division commander, was commissioned in 1994 as a member of the Korea Military Academy’s 31st class. He has successfully served in key positions such as chief of staff of the 7th Corps, brigade commander and chief of staff of the 8th Mobile Division, and director of future strategy at the Army Headquarters Future Innovation Research Center.


The division plans to continue strengthening realistic training focused on operations and combat scenarios, and to further develop its combat capabilities.
