Targeting the Senior Healthcare Market with Apparel-Robot Integration

Hyungji Elite announced on the 14th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chinese robotics company Shanghai Zhongshuai Robot Co., Ltd. (Zhongshuai Robot) for joint research and development and market entry of wearable robots.

Zhongshuai Robot is a leading robotics company in China. It currently possesses intelligent exoskeleton robot technology in various fields, including gait assistance, rehabilitation therapy, healthcare, and protective gear for workplaces.

The two companies plan to jointly develop wearable robot designs by integrating fashion pattern design and material technology into robot frames. They also intend to develop special high-performance fabrics that are lightweight yet highly breathable and stretchable, to introduce industrial (B2B) specialized clothing and senior (B2C) gait assistive devices.

They plan to go beyond a simple technology partnership by dispatching research personnel and actively exchanging expertise to pursue practical technological cooperation.

Hyungji Elite aims to use this agreement as a stepping stone to expand its territory beyond Korea into the Chinese market. In particular, the company’s strategy is to first secure a leading position in the B2B specialized clothing market, then expand its business to include senior gait assistive robots (B2C), a key solution for the aging era, thereby securing future growth engines.
