Mayor Kim Kyungho of Gwangjin District presented these directions for this year's district administration during the New Year's gathering held at the main auditorium of the Gwangjin District Office on January 13.
More than 1,000 people, including local residents, attended the event. The program began with Mayor Kim's receiving, followed by a pre-ceremony cultural performance by the district's women's choir and a pledge of integrity performance by district employees. Afterwards, a video was shown featuring residents of various ages, from children to seniors-including students, traditional market merchants, and firefighters-sharing their hopes for their daily lives.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Kim stated that, based on the continued implementation of the '2040 Gwangjin Re-Creation Plan,' the district will pursue five core tasks this year. He said, "We will place residents' inconveniences and opinions at the center of district administration, resolve feasible issues promptly, and continue trustworthy governance through sufficient communication," adding, "I wish all residents health and happiness in the New Year."
The district plans to hold district office division work briefings from January 16 to February 2 to share the direction of new policies for the year and communicate directly with residents.
