The Daegu Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Hongshik Shin) announced that on January 12, reporter Jaehwan Lim from Maeil Newspaper donated the entire prize money of 1 million won, which he received for winning the "2025 Reporter of the Year Award," to the Daegu Love Fruit campaign, thereby putting the spirit of sharing into practice. With this donation, reporter Jaehwan Lim became the 154th Sharing Leader in Daegu.
Through his coverage of organ donation and disaster-related issues, reporter Jaehwan Lim has shed light on social awareness and captured stories of people's daily lives and recovery. He received the Grand Prize for his organ donation feature and the Best Regional Planning Award for his article highlighting life after disasters, earning high praise in two categories of the 2025 Reporter of the Year Award.

Reporter Lim said, "The stories of the people I met during my reporting left a deep impression on me," and added, "I realized that the choices and courage shown by those individuals have the power to gradually change society, and I wanted this prize money to contribute to such a meaningful movement."
He continued, "I hope to continue participating in meaningful initiatives and to naturally share the value of giving with those around me."
