The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City has created a space for communication where local residents and artists can come together by utilizing idle spaces within the council building.
The Seo-gu Council announced that the "Seobitmaru Senior Watercolor Exhibition" will be held in the first-floor lobby of the council building until January 27.
This exhibition is the third gallery event planned to transform the council space into an open cultural venue centered on residents and to support self-sustaining artistic activities in the local community.
The exhibition features works by participants of the watercolor program at the Seobitmaru Senior Center, showcasing the dedication and passion of senior artists who are pursuing a second chapter in life through art after retirement. The artworks are expected to provide visitors to the council with opportunities to enjoy culture in their everyday lives.
The Seo-gu Council has been committed to creating a resident-friendly council space with the goal of being an "open council with change and innovation," and plans to continue fostering cultural communication linked to local artistic activities through this exhibition.
Jeon Seungil, Chairperson of the Seo-gu Council, stated, "The watercolor works filled with the passion of our seniors are bringing new vitality to the council space," adding, "We will continue to actively utilize idle spaces to communicate with local residents and establish a friendly council brand image that fosters empathy through culture."
This exhibition is free of charge and open to everyone on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. without any prior reservation required.
