The Special Committee on Political Reform at the National Assembly (Political Reform Committee) held its first plenary meeting on the 13th, officially beginning its activities. The committee was formed to discuss matters such as the redistricting plan ahead of the June 3 local elections.

On the afternoon of the same day, the Political Reform Committee held its inaugural meeting at the National Assembly and elected Song Kiheon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, as its chairman. Yoon Kunyoung from the Democratic Party of Korea and Cho Jeonghun from the People Power Party were appointed as secretaries representing each party.
Previously, the ruling and opposition parties agreed to form the committee with nine members from the Democratic Party of Korea, eight from the People Power Party, and one from a non-negotiating group. The Democratic Party of Korea is represented by Chairman Song, Yoon Kunyoung, Kim Hankyu, Yoon Junbyung, Lee Haesik, Kim Moonsu, Song Jaebong, Lee Sangsik, and Lim Miae. The People Power Party is represented by Cho Jeonghun, Park Deokheum, Kim Seungsoo, Kim Eunhye, Park Sooyoung, Bae Junyoung, Seo Iljun, and Kang Myeonggu.
From the non-negotiating group, Jung Chunseong of the Rebuilding Korea Innovation Party is the sole participant.
