According to Gangjin County on January 12, Meokgaebi, a public delivery app operated through public-private partnership in Jeollanam-do, began its service in July 2022. As of December 31, 2025, it has recorded 353 affiliated stores, 7,756 cumulative members, and approximately 423,000 cumulative orders within the county. During the same period, cumulative sales exceeded 11 billion won.

Gangjin County has been running discount events by linking Meokgaebi with local festivals to support the tertiary industry, which accounts for a significant portion of the local industrial structure, as well as small business owners. The county explained that residents increased local consumption through these discounts, and the resulting sales benefited local small businesses.

In particular, providing discount coupons during local festivals led to increased app usage. Gangjin County cited the discount policy linked to festivals as the main reason for the significant increase in sales in the region, which has a population of about 32,000.

Gangjin County will continue Meokgaebi discount events in 2026. To commemorate the 54th Gangjin Celadon Festival, which will be held on February 21, the county will offer a special discount event, as well as a 3,000-won weekend discount event.
