The Ministry of Employment and Labor has launched a search and seizure operation at Hanwha Ocean, which was embroiled in allegations of union domination and intervention during last year's National Assembly audit.
According to labor circles and the Tongyeong branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor on January 13, investigators from the Tongyeong branch began conducting a search and seizure at the Hanwha Ocean Geoje Plant at around 9 a.m. that day.
It is understood that approximately 30 investigators from the Tongyeong branch and other agencies were deployed for the operation, securing computer hard drives and related materials from offices such as the Labor-Management Cooperation Team within the Labor-Management Win-Win Cooperation Headquarters.
This search and seizure is reportedly related to suspicions raised during last year's National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee audit, where it was alleged that a notebook belonging to a management-side labor affairs team employee contained indications that the company attempted to support or intervene in a specific organization within the union.
